Coupang Play and Genie TV have confirmed the production and casting of 'UDT: Our Neighborhood Special Forces' and will begin full-scale filming in June.
Coupang Play and Genie TV's original series 'UDT: Our Neighborhood Special Forces' (creator Ban Gi-ri, script Kim Sang-yun, director Jo Woong, provided by Coupang Play, Genie TV, ENA, planned by Studio Genie, produced by High G Music Studio, K-connect, 221b) is a work depicting the cheerful union operation of a reserve special forces team, who are not concerned about protecting the country or world peace, but are united only for their family and neighborhood.
'UDT: Our Neighborhood Special Forces' features Yoon Kye-sang as 'Choi Gang,' an ordinary insurance Researcher known as "the one who didn't go to the military," who comes from a former JDD special operations unit. Jin Sun-kyu plays 'Kwak Byeong-nam,' a former member of the HID Anti-Terrorism Unit, who now runs a hardware store and stationery shop, while also serving as the youth association president of Changri-dong.
Yoon Kye-sang and Jin Sun-kyu previously showcased a strong chemistry as an organization boss and a member in the national crime action movie 'The Outlaws.' This time, the two are expected to present their extraordinary chemistry once again. Additionally, Kim Ji-hyun will appear as 'Jung Nam-yeon,' the owner of 'Mammoth Mart'; Go Gyu-pil will play 'Lee Yong-hee,' the head of the 'Special Forces Martial Arts School'; and Lee Jeong-han is confirmed to portray 'Park Jeong-hwan,' a student from Seoul National University.
'UDT: Our Neighborhood Special Forces' features an innovative premise where reserve soldiers of Korea take a stand to protect their neighborhood, and characters with various backgrounds come together in a cheerful manner. It will be released in the second half of 2025 through Coupang Play, Genie TV, and ENA.
