"It has been a year since my husband passed away… with organ rupture and suspicions of cancer," Sa-gang noted, raising concerns among fans as she is experiencing health issues amid a series of trials.
Actress Sa-gang is causing concern among fans as it has been reported that she is experiencing health issues along with recent organ rupture surgery after losing her husband last year.
On Jan. 9, 2024, Sa-gang suddenly lost her husband, Mr. Shin Se-ho, who passed away at the age of 49. At that time, her agency Jump Entertainment reported to OSEN that "it is true that Ms. Sa-gang's husband has passed away. He had no known chronic illness." In the face of this sudden news, Sa-gang maintained a vigil at the funeral home with her two daughters, embracing their grief.
Although he was a non-celebrity, he gained public recognition by appearing in family entertainment shows such as SBS's 'Oh My Baby', 'Same Bed, Different Dreams 2', and E Channel's 'Is It a Divorce?' Over the years, as they shared a family-centered daily life, his sudden death increased the fans' sadness.
However, the trials did not end there. Sa-gang recently revealed her shocking health condition through the TV Chosun entertainment show 'Solo is Better'. She cautiously opened up, saying, "I had surgery earlier this year." After experiencing abnormal bleeding symptoms different from usual, she visited a hospital and was told by the medical staff, "We cannot rule out the possibility of cancer, so let's do a detailed examination."
Recalling her feelings at that time, she revealed, "I had so many thoughts. It wasn't 'What if I have cancer?' but rather, 'What will happen to my children?'' She added with a smile, "At that moment, a close younger sibling said, 'Aren't you currently dealing with cancer? They don't even write it like that in morning dramas these days.'"
Fortunately, the test results revealed that it was not cancer. However, a rupture of about 7cm had already occurred in her internal organs, and it was determined that if left untreated, it could be dangerous, leading to immediate surgery. Sa-gang stated that she is currently taking hormone medication that forces menopause, saying, "These days, I am experiencing an artificial menopause."
Even after the surgery, complete recovery has been slow. She shared honestly about the psychological pain she experienced during her treatment, saying, "I was more afraid of the medication than the surgery. There was a lot of anxiety about weight gain and menopause symptoms." Fans are sending heartfelt messages of sympathy and support, saying, "I hope only good things happen from now on," "I really hope you recover your health for the sake of the children," and "We are always cheering for you."
