Actor Ahn Jae-hong revealed that he felt 'lost' after his appearance on 'SNL.'
On the 10th, a video titled "Mother? Sister? It's ambiguous" was uploaded on the 'TEO' channel. That day, actor Ahn Jae-hong and Ra Mi-ran, the lead actors of the movie 'High Five,' appeared as guests.
Jang Doyoun asked, "You are both among those actors who always get the title of radical transformation whenever you change roles. Do you feel a pressure that you need to be different from your previous works?" Ra Mi-ran replied, "You shouldn't push yourself too hard. Anything in excess is no good. The moment I covet something and try to do it, I've already failed. I try to think of it lightly. And I don't think I fit the title of a master of transformation; in the case of Jae-hong, it's like, 'What is he trying to do?' to that extent," she expressed her worries.
In response, Jang Doyoun mentioned, "Is it 'Joo-o-nam'?" referring to Netflix's 'Mask Girl,' and Ra Mi-ran said, "I watched it later. People were making such a fuss over it. It's the retirement work. So I was wondering how much they did to create such a response, but the saddest part is that the makeup suited them so well. It matched perfectly," she marveled.
Jang Doyoun remarked, "Even calling it makeup seems too natural, as they apparently put something in their stomach," and Ahn Jae-hong explained, "They didn't understand that well. They thought I just gained weight. I put this much in," and Jang Doyoun asked, "Isn't it just directing the weight gain to make the stomach not look pretty like the character?" Ahn Jae-hong responded, "That's right. So I thought that might be awkward. Overall, it needs to grow or change, but I was wondering if it would be natural, and actually, it seems more fitting for that character," he expressed satisfaction.
Then Ra Mi-ran said, "Didn't you appear on 'SNL' not long ago? Since Jae-hong acts so confidently, I thought he would excel at roles like Joo-o-nam. But I noticed that he seemed embarrassed. I could see that he was feeling shy while doing it. I thought, 'He could have done more,' but he said, 'I can't do it anymore,'" she revealed.
Jang Doyoun commented, "It's often said that one feels lost, isn't it?" and Ahn Jae-hong nodded his head while recalling the time, saying, "I felt it a lot. It came a lot." Jang Doyoun wondered, "Didn't you choose that yourself? We already know a strong Joo-o-nam too well," but Ahn Jae-hong said, "The feeling was different. When the audience responded live, it felt completely different from filming movies or series."
In response, Jang Doyoun asked, "When was the time you felt the most embarrassed?" Ahn Jae-hong said, "When I was in disguise as Angel, a member of TMI, my eyes were getting moist while looking in the mirror," adding, "I used the word 'gyaru' for the first time that day. It was really fun," he said, forcing a smile.
Ra Mi-ran asked, "If they ask you to come back?" and Ahn Jae-hong replied with a hollow expression, "I think it was a really good experience," causing laughter.
