Chef Shin Gye-sook appeared on 'Pook Resting.'
On the episode of MBC's entertainment program 'Pook Resting Is Good' (abbreviated as Pook Resting) aired on the 9th, Kim Dae-ho enjoyed a West Coast island tour with his hometown Yangpyeong senior Lee Sugeun, comedian Lee Eun-ji, Oh My Girl's Mimi, and singer Ha Sung-woon.
On that day, Chef Shin Gye-sook, who is responsible for the island's cuisine, made her appearance. As Korea's first female Chinese chef, she boasts 39 years of cooking experience this year.
Lee Yeon-bok, another Chinese chef, noted with a chuckle about Shin Gye-sook's appearance, "We are filming for 1 night and 2 days. That person could survive a month on a deserted island. She has that much energy."
Proving her reputation, Chef Shin Gye-sook constantly hummed songs and exuded enthusiasm. Even Lee Sugeun and Mimi hummed along with her.
However, there were no rough edges in front of the cooking. Seeing the scar on Chef Shin Gye-sook's arm from oil splatters, Lee Yeon-bok empathized, "That's why they say that when Chinese chefs roll up their sleeves during a fight, they win."
Shin Gye-sook cleaned the large rockfish that the 'Pook Resting' members caught with her hands, extracting the innards while preserving as much flesh as possible, and then she shaped it in a wok and deep-fried it whole.
Additionally, she made sweet and sour pork with the remaining rockfish meat and created clam jjajang with clams and conch from the West Coast. The members of 'Pook Resting' and the guests were speechless at her skills in creating a Chinese course in no time.
