The 'Ddeuisan Crew' made viewers' hearts race with their challenge in the fifth competition, 'trail running.'
In the 8th episode of 'You Must Run' aired on the 7th, a special plan for the 30th anniversary of MBN, the 'Ddeuisan Crew' participated for the first time in the '11km trail running' competition, where a 'tagging' mission was declared, capturing the fierce competition.
Previously, the 'Ddeuisan Crew,' which completed the 'half marathon,' gathered at Yulpo Beach in Boseong, Jeollanam-do, that day. They went for an easy 5km run for a 'recovery run', enjoying casual conversations along the beach course. An Seong-hoon noted, "It's been a while since I've walked by this sea," while Heo Jae joked, "I have to go with the leading group. Everyone seems to be running too slowly." Choi Jun-seok shared, "I used to go by car for 500m, but now I walk about 1km," highlighting how running has changed his daily life. After finishing their recovery run, the 'Ddeuisan Crew' strengthened their teamwork by competing in the 'acupressure path relay flag pulling' challenge, and later cheerfully wrapped up training by enjoying delicious duck meat.
Two weeks later, the 'Ddeuisan Crew' reunited in Jeongseon, Gangwon Province. Here, Director General Sean declared, "Our next competition is the 'trail running' event happening tomorrow!" Deputy Director Lee Yong-pyo announced, "We will conduct mountain training. The bottom three from the 'half marathon,' Heo Jae, Yang Jun-hyuk, and Bang Eun-hee, will be split into three teams for a relay race, and the winning team will receive MVP badges." The 'Ddeuisan Crew' expressed their eagerness for the badges, while 'Ace' Lee Jang-jun complained during the race, "It's so tough. The slope is so steep that I thought my thigh muscles might burst." Thankfully, everyone finished the race without injury, and the winning team was led by Yang Jun-hyuk.
After completing mountain training, Director General Sean revealed, "I have an important announcement today." As everyone looked puzzled, Jeong Ho-young stepped up and said, "Actually, I will only participate in 'You Must Run' until today. Due to a lack of staff, I need to protect the restaurant and have regrettably decided to step down for my livelihood." He continued, "I enjoyed being with the warm management and crew very much, but I feel that I might lose my restaurant staff if this continues, so I won't participate in tomorrow's competition," bidding farewell to everyone. Immediately after, he shared in an interview with the production team, "I have been running steadily for the past three months, and it has given me confidence. After succeeding in my first half marathon, I realized that nothing is impossible. If given the chance, I would like to challenge myself to a full marathon once."
The next day, the 'Ddeuisan Crew' gathered in Gangneung, Gangwon Province, for the highly anticipated 'trail running' event. With about 2,300 participants, Deputy Director Lee Yong-pyo announced the mission for this competition to the 'Ddeuisan Crew' before the main event. He explained, "Everyone has their rankings from 1st to last place from the 'half marathon,' and if you catch the person directly ahead of you, you can take one MVP badge from them." Hearing this, Heo Jae raised his voice, saying, "This might cause internal division," while Son Jeong-eun added, "It's already getting tense!" provoking laughter from everyone. Suddenly, Sleepy quipped, "I want to give my badge away beforehand and run slowly," which caused a stir among the participants. Right after, everyone assessed who they needed to catch up with and expressed their determination.
As everyone was strategizing for the 'tagging' mission, the start time for the 'trail running' approached. Meanwhile, actors Cha Eun-woo, Lim Se-mi, and Lee Si-woo participated, drawing attention to the scene. These 'running lovers' joined the 'Ddeuisan Crew' for the '11km trail running' event, and when the start whistle blew, '1st place' Lee Jang-jun shot off like a bullet, avoiding being caught by anyone.
