Actress Lee Ruda, a former member of WJSN, conveyed her chemistry with Jang Sin-young.
On the 5th, MBC held a production presentation for its new daily drama 'The Woman Who Swallowed the Sun' at Sangam MBC. The event was hosted by announcer Lim Hyun-joo, and actors Jang Sin-young, Seo Ha-joon, Yoon Ah-jung, Oh Chang-seok, Lee Ruda, and producer Kim Jin-hyung attended the event.
The new daily drama 'The Woman Who Swallowed the Sun' (planned by Jang Jae-hoon, directed by Kim Jin-hyung, written by Seol Kyung-eun, produced by MBC C&I), is a story about a woman's intense revenge against a wealthy family under the name of her only daughter in a world where victims are disguised as perpetrators.
On that day, Lee Ruda explained about her character, "Baek Mi-so is Seol Hee's (played by Jang Sin-young) only daughter and source of happiness. I play a role that is the origin and cause of all the stories."
Lee Ruda, who will take her first lead role on terrestrial television with this project, noted, "Many excellent seniors helped and guided me on set, so I was able to film well. The director and others also provided a lot of guidance."
She continued, "I was nervous, and Mi-so has a deep emotional line. I was expressing emotions I had never felt in my life, so I had a lot of concerns about how to portray that. However, strangely enough, when I entered the filming set and looked into Jang Sin-young's eyes, it just happened. I think I was able to shoot well thanks to the seniors."
Jang Sin-young also responded, "Since (Mi-so) is the only daughter, I felt very comfortable even though it was my first meeting with Ruda. I have many emotional scenes that I express by breathing along with her. Even yesterday, we filmed through tears all day long, and I kept acting while looking into this girl's eyes, all of which is held by Mi-so. I think we both looked into each other's eyes with sincerity."
