Actress Kang Kyung-hun changed the flow of the plot in "Queen's House," igniting a tense narrative.
In the episode of KBS2's daily drama "Queen's House" that aired on the 3rd, Mi-ran (Kang Kyung-hun) unveiled a long-hidden secret to her niece Jae-in (Ham Eun-jung), emerging as a central figure that completely shakes the emotional lines and relationship dynamics between characters.
Mi-ran, who has moved with cold judgment and decisiveness at YL Group, has shown unwavering composure in the face of Jae-in's downfall and Eun-ho's death. However, in this episode, the silhouette of maternal love hidden behind that strength was revealed.
In particular, her confession that "Seung-woo is my son" was shocking in itself, but the emotions that followed were even sharper. Jae-in revealed deep betrayal toward Mi-ran and Seung-woo, who supported Hwang Gi-chan (Park Yoon-jae) while excluding her in the last shareholders' meeting, and Mi-ran first exhibited her instinctive anger and maternal love, warning strongly, "Don't hurt our Seung-woo. If that happens, I won't just stand by."
In the past, she had to give up love and even her son to protect YL Group, but now she revealed a profound and complex inner world, declaring that she would spare no cost to protect her son.
Kang Kyung-hun did not suppress Mi-ran's emotions but presented them raw, complexly expressing the clash between coldness and emotion, power and motherhood. Behind her fierce gaze warning Jae-in, her trembling voice and unsteady eyes in her attempt to protect her son Seung-woo delicately portrayed the intricate emotions Mi-ran feels.
Until now, Mi-ran has been a cold and rational character who does not easily waver. However, through this episode, Mi-ran was completed as a mother who pours out hotter emotions than anyone when it comes to her son, no longer just being a "strong person."
"Queen's House," in which Kang Kyung-hun is active, airs every weekday at 7:50 p.m. on KBS2.
