It has been reported that Gukhwa (pseudonym), who appeared on "I am SOLO: Love Continues After (hereafter 'Nasolsagye')," has been accused of violating the Public Official Election Act.
Recently, a post titled "Accused Mr. A from Nasolsagye of violating the Public Official Election Act" was posted on an online community. The author raised concerns that Gukhwa's voting certification photo posted on his/her social media violated election law.
In fact, Gukhwa posted a photo on the 3rd through social media showing the phrase "Voting completed" along with a picture taken just before the voting ticket was inserted into the ballot box. The photo included a voting ticket that indicated the specific candidate he/she voted for. Mr. A has since deleted the photo.
The author emphasized, "Article 166-2 of the Public Official Election Act explicitly prohibits taking pictures of voting tickets inside the polling station, and those who violate it may face up to two years in prison or a fine of up to 4 million won." He/she also noted, "This case has currently been assigned to the Supreme Public Prosecutors' Office Election Investigation Support Division."
Gukhwa is known to the public through the 'Nasolsagye' segment of the 'I am SOLO' series, and as the controversy became known, various reactions such as "Isn't this a violation of the Public Official Election Act?" and "Voting tickets should absolutely not be photographed" have followed online.
