The 15th anniversary of actress Kim Min-kyung, who excelled in the drama 'Damo', is evoking sadness.
Kim Min-kyung passed away on June 3, 2010. She was 29 years old.
Born in 1981, Kim Min-kyung graduated from the Department of Theater and Film at Dankook University and made her debut at the age of 20 in the KBS drama 'School 4' in 2001. Thereafter, Kim Min-kyung gained recognition for her role in the popular MBC drama 'Damo'.
'Damo' is a drama that tells the story of 'Damo', a female detective in the Joseon era. It received acclaim as a well-made romantic historical drama, elevating the lead actors Lee Seo-jin, Ha Ji-won, and Kim Min-jun to stardom.
In this drama, Kim Min-kyung played the bodyguard of Jang Seong-baek, portrayed by Kim Min-jun. Notably, she attracted attention for her role as a woman disguised as a man. She then gained acting experience with minor roles in dramas like 'The Saint and the Witch', and movies such as 'My Love, Scoundrel' and 'DMZ, Demilitarized Zone'.
He was diagnosed with stomach cancer in 2008. He was reported to have fought a tough battle during the approximately two-year treatment period.
