Popular webtoon artist and YouTuber Joo Ho-min has filed a lawsuit against the cyber wrecker YouTuber Ppeokga.
On the 31st of last month, a media outlet reported that Joo Ho-min submitted the complaint against Ppeokga on the 29th of last month. However, as Ppeokga's identity has not been confirmed, a petition for a factual investigation requesting information on Ppeokga, who is being identified in an ongoing case by BJ Gwajuseyeon, was submitted.
Joo Ho-min had previously expressed his intention to sue Ppeokga in February. Ppeokga is a YouTuber referred to as a cyber wrecker. With his face covered by a mask, he showcases defamatory and sensational YouTube content about celebrities and has amassed about 1.11 million subscribers.
Earlier, Gwajuseyeon had filed a defamation lawsuit against Ppeokga. In particular, Gwajuseyeon's side noted that they had obtained Ppeokga's personal information from Google through the evidence disclosure process of a U.S. court. Following this, Joo Ho-min's side has submitted a petition for a factual investigation regarding Ppeokga's identity.
Joo Ho-min is currently involved in a trial against a special education teacher who was responsible for his eldest son with autism, accusing her of child abuse. The trial drew nationwide attention after it was disclosed following the incident involving the death of an elementary school teacher in Seocho.
Ppeokga had also attracted attention with sensational videos featuring Joo Ho-min's family. Joo Ho-min said, "I would appreciate it if anyone who has videos involving our family could send them to me," requesting assistance from internet users, and after collecting the videos, he disclosed plans for a lawsuit against Ppeokga.
Following Gwajuseyeon, attention is focused on whether Joo Ho-min will continue legal battles against the cyber wrecker channel.
