KBS2 'Immortal Songs' Song Pil-geun and Na Hyun-young embraced the final championship trophy among the hot rising stars of entertainment with a highly complete stage.
According to the audience rating research agency Nielsen Korea, 'Immortal Songs' (directed by Park Hyung-geun, Kim Hyung-seok, and Choi Seung-beom) recorded a rating of 5.0% nationwide and 4.4% in the metropolitan area during its 708th episode, marking 121 consecutive weeks at the top of the ratings for the time slot and demonstrating its status as the best music variety show.
The episode that aired on the 31st (Saturday) was part 2 of the '2025 Rising Stars in Entertainment' special, featuring MiMiMiNu, Yuk Jun-seo, Kim Dae-ho, Eom Ji-in and Hong Joo-yeon, Hwang Dong-joo, and Song Pil-geun and Na Hyun-young, who each took the stage showcasing their pride as rising stars in entertainment.
The first name drawn from MC Shin Dong-yeop's hand was MiMiMiNu. Selecting Big Bang's 'Sunset Glow,' MiMiMiNu said, 'I will reach my career high with energy and passion,' fully bursting with tension. In the second stage, Yuk Jun-seo was called to sing TOY's 'I briefly lived by your side.' Next, Eom Ji-in and Hong Joo-yeon became the stars of the fourth stage with SandB's 'I'm Crazy.' 'We will show the true power of the KBS announcer's office,' they said, clenching their fists, displaying a surprising charm as they performed choreography and live singing to 'I'm Crazy.' Adding a rap featuring KBS's 50th-anniversary announcer Park Cheol-kyu further enhanced their performance quality. The fresh and vibrant energy of the three brought smiles to everyone, and Kim Dae-ho's flame was lit once again, securing his victory with a second win.
Hwang Dong-joo sang Lee Kwang-jo's 'You're Too Far to Get Close' as the fifth performer. Before taking the stage, he said to Lee Young-ja, 'Yumi sister, I will do my best.' Throughout his performance, Hwang Dong-joo expressed profound and delicate emotions. At times, his voice conveyed a desperate pure love. He skillfully explored his emotional lines, even moving the judges to tears. However, Kim Dae-ho defeated Hwang Dong-joo, achieving an impressive three consecutive victories.
Song Pil-geun and Na Hyun-young became the stars of the final stage. Choosing Eclipse's 'Shower,' Song Pil-geun and Na Hyun-young instantly elevated the mood, making the audience burst into laughter from their first appearance. They presented a romantic love story skit based on 'Shower,' creating a theatrical performance. They showcased not only acting skills but also high-level vocal abilities, completing a highly refined stage. Moreover, the support from fellow comedians, including Park Sung-kwang, added warmth. Meanwhile, Song Pil-geun and Na Hyun-young enjoyed the ultimate joy of victory. They proved their talent as a duo in KBS's flagship program, 'Know the Song,' embracing the trophy.
