Na Yoon-kwon expressed his affection for the song, saying, "If it weren't for this song, I wouldn't be who I am now." He stated that he released "If I Were You" at the age of 20, recalling that he sang the song during his time as a 'lone since birth' when he had no dating experience at all, and added, "The kiss scene in the 1st album music video was my first kiss in life." He also shared, "People said I looked like someone who dated a lot and drank and smoked a lot," bringing laughter.
