Actress Kim Ga-yeon documented the negative comments that followed her support speech for presidential candidate Lee Jae-myung.
On the 30th, Kim Ga-yeon posted the negative comments on her personal account and said, "It's a personal space, but if this continues, I will chase it to the end. Who's going to break their head? Nowadays kids see this and say, 'Oh, self-introduction'."
Earlier that day, at the clock tower square in Chungju Gymnasium, South Chungcheong Province, a campaign rally for Lee Jae-myung of the Democratic Party of Korea was held, where Kim Ga-yeon took the stage to publicly support him.
He said, "I stand here not as a celebrity but as a citizen. On May 18, 1980, at the age of 9, I experienced something I should never have to endure. At that time, martial law was declared, and innocent citizens were sacrificed. I believed that during my life, there would never be another martial law declared."
Kim Ga-yeon recalled, "But on December 3 of last year, an absurd martial law was declared. I came here today to share my experience. When I passed in front of the courthouse, I saw something covered with a white cloth in a square like this. At first, I didn't realize it was a person," she said. "My mother, in shock, held my hand and said, 'Just hold the wall and cross over', 'Just walk straight', but the curious 9-year-old girl peeked. I saw blood on the ground outside the white cloth and my feet that were covered in dirt. Who could have that experience?"
She continued, "It is because of their sacrifices that democracy in Korea has developed, and that we have been able to live peacefully. Do you think everything ends just because he was dismissed? The reason I support Lee Jae-myung is that I have no doubt that he will do exceptionally well."
