Today (31st), the stills from Choi Soo-young's movie 'Ballerina' were first unveiled through the official Instagram of People Entertainment (hereafter 'People Ent'), capturing the attention of global fans. The movie 'Ballerina' is an action thriller that deals with the story of Eve Macaro (played by Ana de Armas), who begins her training as a traditional assassin of the Ruska Roma during the timeframe of the events in 'John Wick 3: Parabellum.' Choi Soo-young plays the role of 'Katla Park,' the daughter of Ilseong, an associate of Ruska Roma.
'Katla Park' is a character who receives protection from Eve Macaro, a ballerina and assassin, in a dance club. The photos released today feature a scene in a dance club involving Katla Park, heightening expectations. Previously, an interview video of Choi Soo-young regarding 'Ballerina' was shared through People Ent's Instagram. He noted, "In a combat scene taking place in the club, Katla Park appears, and this scene represents Eve Macaro's first moment of falling apart. It is when she first becomes aware that she is an assassin. So, I felt that the character of (Katla Park) and the (club fight) scene were really important parts of Eve Macaro's journey," arousing curiosity about the dance club scene.
Choi Soo-young revealed that he created certain settings to immerse himself more deeply into the role of 'Katla Park.' He explained, "I imagined that today is Katla Park's birthday, and from her career perspective, it is a decisive moment when her dream finally comes true. It's a day filled with much to celebrate." He added, "She would have believed that only success and happy moments await her from now on. Creating this background story greatly helped express the fear she feels, her desire to survive, and those complex emotions."
