YouTuber Dawn (real name Lee Jeong-joo) has marked the fourth anniversary of her passing.
Dawn passed away on May 30, 2021, at the age of 30.
The news of the deceased's passing was announced by Kim Eun-ha, the CEO of Ice Creative, who managed her. Kim said, "My long-time friend and brilliant, precious Dawn, Lee Jeong-joo became a star this morning," and added, "I will not forget her courage and spirit, which never lost hope despite a long battle with illness. I will pray that the path is not lonely. I will remember her forever."
Dawn, who worked as a beauty creator on YouTube, showcased various aspects of her life, including makeup and cosmetic reviews, as well as lifestyle videos, amassing around 600,000 subscribers.
In 2019, Dawn publicly disclosed her diagnosis of blood cancer (lymphoma) for the first time and shared her journey of battling the illness through videos, presenting a bright and cheerful demeanor while trying to overcome her illness. Notably, she courageously shared her hair loss due to chemotherapy and the moment she shaved her head, aiming to spread a positive message as a beauty creator.
A month before her passing, Dawn posted a photo of blooming flowers on Instagram, writing, "Will it be this kind of weather when I get out of the hospital?" evoking sadness.
Tributes to the deceased continue, led by her boyfriend, Min-geon. In January 2022, on her first birthday after her passing, he said, "Beloved Jeong-joo, I sincerely congratulate you on your birthday, which you are celebrating in heaven for the first time, your 32nd birthday. Although I couldn't fill your birthday with a day full of laughter, I hope my tears of regret today will be a brighter light there, and that it is truly a joyful and happy birthday for you."
Four years have passed since Dawn's departure, yet mourning for her continues. Fans still leave comments remembering her on her social media account, and on this day, marking the anniversary, those who miss Dawn are continuing to pay their respects.
