Kim Nam-joo revealed the faces of her children for the first time on the show "Queen of Insight Kim Nam-joo," showing happiness as a mother.
On the 29th, the newly aired SBS Life entertainment program "Queen of Insight Kim Nam-joo" depicted Kim Nam-joo revealing her children's childhood moments.
On this day, while introducing her cherished items, Kim Nam-joo said, "What I cherish the most in this house is neither a trophy nor a dress. I got married in 2005, gave birth to my first child, La-hee, and had my second son in 2008, and I have kept my 200-point mother outfit for 20 years," as she unveiled clothes belonging to her daughter, La-hee.
Kim Nam-joo explained, "Anyway, I have been really happy living as a mother more than as an actress," showing an emotional moment. The box was filled with various baby items, from baby clothes to shoes.
Recalling her daughter's childhood, Kim Nam-joo said, "This is the baby blanket that La-hee first used. This was for summer. Isn't it beautiful? It was my dream to pass down something when I had a daughter. So I kept this."
In particular, Kim Nam-joo drew attention by revealing her daughter's face for the first time. She said, "I think this was when she was 5 years old. Doesn't she resemble me?" while also noting, "She resembles her brother Seung-woo in the eyes, but now she has mixed features." The production crew remarked, "Isn't that a scarf often worn by GD?" and Kim Nam-joo playfully responded, "Our La-hee is the original, though?"
Kim Nam-joo also proudly shared a story about an amethyst her son had gifted her. She said, "This was bought by our delicate son because he knew his mom liked jewelry. I was so touched. He was so young then, and that sentiment was moving. I spent a lot of money, but it was so much fun buying clothes for my daughter and son, and raising them was great. Isn't it so different? Even twins are different; siblings are even more different. I found that so interesting."
Meanwhile, Kim Nam-joo advised mothers raising children, "The child you see now is not the child they will be. Just wait; they change so much," which brought laughter. She added, "My son didn't like sports when he was young, and I was upset. But then he grew up, and I had no idea he would get into martial arts. He's going nuts with jiu-jitsu and boxing."
Conversely, although her daughter was active and did various sports in her early years, she is now just lying down since hitting adolescence. Kim Nam-joo said, "I couldn't believe I would raise her this way. It's really true. Every word from my seniors was right. I had so many wonderful senior mothers around me, so when I didn't know things, I asked a lot, and they taught me very well. I was blessed to have many connections."
Above all, she said, "I've experienced a lot of trial and error, but I have been the happiest while raising my children." She continued, "I'm so sad that the kids are all grown up now. I was happiest in my 40s. Acting is a job for me. It was through acting that I even found my passion for it. Initially, it was just a job for me."
Kim Nam-joo expressed, "Of course, I was happy because the fans loved me so much. But the reason I exist the most is when I live as a mother," adding, "I have always loved babies. How beautiful would my own child be? Time has flown by too quickly," revealing her sense of loss regarding her grown-up children.
