Actress Jang Seo-hee, who transformed into a doctor in the drama 'Obstetrics and Gynecology,' will appear as a special MC on TV CHOSUN's 'Our Baby Has Been Born.' Jang joins the 'Sunpung Duo' in place of Yang Se-hyung, who is temporarily absent, and threatens Yang's position with her strong empathy.
On the 30th at 10 p.m., TV CHOSUN's 'Our Baby Has Been Born' (directed by Lee Seung-hoon and Kim Joon, written by Jang Joo-yeon) will feature Park Soo-hong and Jang Seo-hee visiting the childbirth scene of a couple who are paramedics. A mother, now in her 38th week of pregnancy, visited the hospital for a check-up but was diagnosed with oligohydramnios, a condition marked by an abnormally low amount of amniotic fluid surrounding the fetus. In cases of oligohydramnios, there is insufficient space to safeguard the fetus, posing a risk of an emergency at any moment.
As a result, the mother decided on an emergency hospitalization, and the medical staff prepared for delivery, saying, 'You will give birth today, so contact your husband to come.' However, the mother hesitated to inform her husband, who was on duty as a paramedic, fearing it might interrupt him during an emergency call.
Meanwhile, after labor began, it was noted that the fetus had passed meconium in the mother's womb. Gynecologist Kim Ji-yeon, who was consulted, stated, 'If the fetus passes meconium, it means the baby is under stress in the mother's womb. Furthermore, if the fetus inhales the meconium, it can lead to complications, so delivery must happen quickly,' emphasizing the urgency of the situation. After hearing that receiving an epidural could reduce the mother's pain but might delay delivery, putting the baby at risk, the mother replied, 'I will hold on for my baby,' refusing the epidural.
Park Soo-hong expressed sorrow for the suffering mother, stating, 'While we share moments of joy and wonder, I feel like I'm getting heart disease.' Jang Seo-hee noted, 'I was moved by hearing that the mother's will is strong,' displaying empathy comparable to Park Soo-hong.
