Son Dam-bi's attending physician noted, 'Natural delivery is not possible, it's a complete placenta previa,' adding, 'Placenta previa is a burdensome surgery. In the past, the uterus had to be completely removed,' and 'Since excessive bleeding is expected, a consent form for a transfusion will also be obtained in advance. If this had happened during the Joseon Dynasty, both the mother and child would have died,' explaining the dangers of placenta previa. This is because cesarean sections were not available at that time.
The consulting obstetrician, Kim Ji-yeon, added, 'There's no need to go back to the Joseon Dynasty; even in times when obstetrics like today did not exist, this would have caused the death of both the mother and baby,' further heightening the tension.
Moreover, the situation made bleeding after childbirth unavoidable. The attending physician said, 'Because there is a lot of bleeding, even if we quickly stitch her up, anemia will occur and a transfusion may be needed,' emphasizing the significant risk of bleeding. On the day, the physician painted a picture stating, 'There's a lot of blood, it seems about 1,400 ml has come out,' creating a sense of tension.
