It was recently revealed that broadcaster Bae Sung-jae and Kim Da-young, both former SBS announcers, have completed their marriage registration and returned from their honeymoon. The couple chose a quiet start and became legally married without a wedding.
On the 28th, Bae Sung-jae's agency, SM C&C, told OSEN, 'Bae Sung-jae and Kim Da-young recently completed their marriage registration and went on their honeymoon,' and added, 'Details are difficult to confirm as it is a private matter.'
Bae Sung-jae and Kim Da-young, a couple that has transcended a 14-year age gap, decided to marry after about two years of dating, having met through the SBS entertainment program 'Girls Who Hit Goals.' Instead of a wedding march, they concluded their marriage simply with legal procedures and reportedly replaced their ceremony with a modest family dinner.
SM C&C noted, 'The two wanted to start quietly, skipping formalities. Accordingly, they had a meal with family instead of a wedding,' and added, 'We ask for understanding as additional details related to the marriage are personal matters.'
Announcer Kim Da-young also cautiously revealed her thoughts through her social media. She stated, 'We have long contemplated all the non-harmful and easy ways for us to be together,' and added, 'We decided to forego a ceremony and instead have a meal with our immediate families. I apologize for not being able to contact many of you directly.' She continued, 'I sincerely appreciate all the congratulations and blessings.'
Bae Sung-jae cleverly shared the news of his marriage during the opening of his show, SBS Radio PowerFM's 'Bae Sung-jae's Ten.' He said on air, 'Although I couldn't share it first, I wanted to tell our radio listeners directly,' and added, 'Thank you to those who congratulated us, and I apologize to anyone who may be upset.'
Ahead of the marriage, Announcer Kim Da-young submitted her resignation to SBS, and she also exited 'Kim Young-chul's PowerFM,' where she had been a regular guest, after the broadcast on April 23rd. This decision is interpreted as a strategy for reorganization of her broadcasting activities.
Bae Sung-jae began his career as an announcer at KBS Gwangju Broadcasting Station in 2005 and moved to SBS in 2006, where he thrived in various fields, including sports casting, news, entertainment, and radio. After resigning in 2021, he transitioned to freelance work and continues to be active. Kim Da-young joined SBS as a career employee in 2021 and showcased her presence across news, cultural, and sports programs, gaining attention as a member of the 'Girls Who Hit Goals' FC Anaconda.
