Model and actress Lee Gi-yong has revealed her current situation working at a restaurant, leaving behind her glamorous past.
On the 27th, Lee Gi-yong shared a post on social media saying, "At one time, I was a top model, and now I am working at a restaurant. I am not the boss; I am an employee. It's okay if life is different. I am living like this too, so let's stay strong," along with a short video.
In the released video, Lee Gi-yong introduces her current appearance working at a restaurant alongside footage from her glamorous days as a top model. Her hair is tied back, and she is wearing an apron while moving a box full of liquor bottles, making it hard to recognize the past top model. Particularly, Lee Gi-yong is completely embodying the role of a restaurant employee, gathering and organizing leftover food from customers and washing the tables and dishes.
Additionally, Lee Gi-yong explained the reason she went into hiding after stopping her activities, sharing that she worked in food delivery before working at the restaurant. She noted, "The image I project seems strong, but internally it is not. I had a low self-esteem and felt pressure from people's expectations, and the gap was so wide that I lost courage. That made me want to run away. I was afraid my shabby appearance would be discovered."
Meanwhile, Lee Gi-yong made her debut in the entertainment industry by winning the SBS Supermodel Contest in 2002. She appeared in numerous commercials and films like "Moo-young-geom" and "Gangster's Wife 3," but has not been active since the release of "Operation" in 2011.
