The story of Father Lee Taeseok, who chose the path of faith over taking an exam, has been revealed.
On the 27th, KBS2TV's 'Celeb Soldiers' Secret' aired a story about Father Lee Taeseok, who practiced true love firsthand in Tonj.
On that day, Father Kim Sang-yoon joined in. Jang Doyoun said, "Before we started filming, I asked if I could call him 'Father,' and he replied, 'Wouldn't it be strange if I said 'Buddhist monk'?"
'Celeb Soldiers' Secret' revealed a story about Father Lee Taeseok. Father Lee Taeseok was born as the ninth of ten siblings under a single mother and grew up as the pride of his family and his mother after passing the medical college entrance exam.
However, Father Lee Taeseok was absent on the day of the resident exam. Although he was on special leave while serving as a military doctor, he did not show up.
Lee Nak-jun said, "I couldn't attend my first son's first birthday party while I was a military doctor. There was a North Korean shelling. At that time, all leaves were canceled. It is an exam that must be taken unconditionally unless something like that happens," and noted, "After two years of pre-med and six years of medical school, plus one year as an intern, I had studied for ten years."
Father Lee Taeseok did not return to the hospital or home. Thirteen years later, he appeared on the medical volunteer scene in Africa. Father Kim Sang-yoon said, "On the day of the resident exam, this person was in the church. He decided to enter the religious order. He must undergo training for over ten years to become a priest."
Father Kim Sang-yoon said, "I am a year junior in the religious order. One year before receiving ordination, he went to Africa alone. At that time, he traveled to mission sites and went to Tonj in South Sudan, the poorest place."
