The group SEVENTEEN (S.COUPS, Jeonghan, Joshua, Jun, Hoshi, Wonwoo, Woozi, DK, Mingyu, Dokyeom, Seungkwan, Vernon, Dino) celebrated its tenth birthday party in style with 350,000 citizens.
On the 27th, Pledis Entertainment, HYBE, and the Seoul Future Han River Headquarters reported that over 352,000 people visited the area around Jamsu Bridge and Banpo Hangang Park, where the 'B-DAY PARTY' took place from the 23rd to the 25th. Both domestic and international CARATs (the fandom name), as well as citizens and foreign tourists who came out, celebrated and created unforgettable memories with SEVENTEEN.
'BURST Stage' heats up Banpo Hangang Park... chart-topping performance!
The 'B-DAY PARTY: BURST Stage @Jamsu Bridge (hereafter BURST Stage)' that crowned the event received explosive responses. On the day of the performance, the 25th, over 206,000 people attended the site. Waves of CARAT light sticks (SEVENTEEN's official cheering light sticks) swayed not only on Jamsu Bridge but throughout Banpo Hangang Park. The performance was also livestreamed on the YouTube channels of HYBE Labels and the Seoul City, Weverse, and Naver, capturing fans from over 193 countries and regions worldwide.
As the first K-pop artist to hold a performance at Jamsu Bridge, SEVENTEEN raised the atmosphere to its peak by performing 12 songs, including the title track 'THUNDER' from their 5th album and the track 'HBD.' The intense atmosphere was a direct result of the excitement surrounding their comeback, with 'THUNDER' topping the Melon 'TOP 100' and Bugs real-time charts at midnight on the 27th. Additionally, the songs 'HBD' and 'Bad Influence (prod. by Pharrell Williams)' also entered the rankings of major domestic music charts.
HYBE collaborated with the Seoul City, as well as the Seoul Police Agency, Fire and Disaster Headquarters, and local police stations and fire departments to ensure the safe execution of the performance. Seocho District contributed to the event to commemorate the 'inaugural year of the Goto-Sevit tourism zone,' and the 'car-free Jamsu Bridge Walking Festival' added more enjoyment alongside the 'BURST Stage.'
Seoul turns into SEVENTEEN... afterglow of the 10th-anniversary party lingers
The Sevit Island, where the 'B-DAY PARTY' took place, was filled with SEVENTEEN everywhere for three days. Various exhibitions and experiences were prepared, from the 'SEVENTEEN History Zone' summarizing their history to 'Photo-ism,' 'Interactive Message Zone,' '5th Album Merch Zone,' brand booths, and a photo card exchange. Key programs sold out as soon as reservations began.
The official website for the 'B-DAY PARTY,' which opened on the 12th, recorded about 1.48 million visits (including duplicates) over two weeks. Fans from 138 countries and regions, including Korea, Japan, China, the United States, the Philippines, Singapore, Indonesia, and Malaysia, visited.
All of Seoul was dyed in SEVENTEEN colors. A message reading 'SEVENTEEN WILL CHALLENGE ETENARTY' was wrapped around the exterior wall of HYBE's headquarters, and a photo zone was set up in a nearby park to attract the footsteps of CARATS. Additionally, outdoor advertisements displayed in various urban areas, special illuminations illuminating major bridges, and events that continue to unfold in collaboration with hotels and brands are expected to prolong the afterglow of the party.
