In "The Lover of Joseon," actor Son Bo-seung shared his heartfelt story of deciding to enlist for realistic reasons, bringing both laughter and emotion.
The June 26 broadcast of TV Chosun's show featured Lee Kyung-sil and her son Son Bo-seung together.
On that day, Son Bo-seung suddenly confessed to Lee Kyung-sil that he would "enlist in June," revealing that the actual enlistment date is June 4 at 2 p.m. Lee Kyung-sil could not hide her surprise at Son Bo-seung's sudden notification of enlistment, saying, "I had no idea since you were talking about auditions," and added, "It's better to go quickly," encouraging him.
When asked about his reasons for deciding to enlist, Son Bo-seung explained, "I am already 26 years old; it's a bit late. Nowadays, military savings are good." He continued, "If I save 550,000 won a month, combined with my salary and allowances, I can save over 20 million won by the time I get discharged."
In particular, he candidly revealed, "There is also the 20 million won I borrowed from my mom, so I am going to the military to pay off my debt." Hearing this, Lee Kyung-sil laughed and said, "I never asked Bo-seung to pay it back, but he is worrying about it by himself," while the panel jokingly added, "Mom must be feeling very burdened."
Lee Kyung-sil comforted her son, saying, "You won't just accept that money after working hard, and it's commendable that you have made that decision yourself. When you come back, it will feel like you have finished your homework."
Meanwhile, Son Bo-seung also revealed that he is a married man of four years due to a premarital pregnancy. Lee Kyung-sil and Son Bo-seung meet the audience every Monday night at 10 p.m. on TV Chosun's "The Lover of Joseon."
