Actor Lim Seong-eun's husband claimed he is innocent regarding the allegations of being an 'APT. development fraudster' surrounding him.
According to a report by The Fact on 27th, Lim Seong-eun's husband, Mr. A, responded to the previous day's report by Dispatch, stating, "Due to business interests, a partner with various conflicts such as lawsuits and accusations has used a specific media outlet to launch absurd defamation and fabricated malicious privacy violations."
The previous day, Dispatch reported that Mr. A was labeled as an 'APT. fraudster' for allegedly recruiting members under the pretext of conducting a local housing association project and misappropriating approximately 20 billion won from the funds raised there. Additionally, it was claimed that Mr. A has a history of fraud and that his marriage to Lim Seong-eun is a 'third marriage.'
However, Mr. A refuted, saying, "Except for the fact that I am remarried and have a criminal record, everything else is false," adding, "Since I am involved in real estate-related businesses, I often have legal disputes with business partners through lawsuits and accusations, and unintentionally have records of violations of housing laws, outdoor advertising laws, and labor standards laws. I have never committed theft or engaged in disgraceful acts."
He emphasized regarding the allegations of misappropriating 20 billion won, "What kind of world are we living in now? The associations and members, as well as the development company and business agency, along with financial officials, all must agree and make decisions for things to happen," stating, "It is thoroughly accounted for and managed. There is no structure that allows even a single won to be misappropriated separately."
Mr. A commented on his wife Lim Seong-eun's reaction, saying, "My wife is also not much different in her perception of the current situation," adding, "She is more frustrated and appalled than I am. I have sufficiently explained the fact that I am remarried after a divorce."
He continued, "Getting married and starting a family is a private matter," stating, "I cannot forgive the fact that the image has been tarnished due to my wife being a well-known entertainer, using that as an excuse for a public issue."
Meanwhile, the trial related to Mr. A is scheduled for August. According to SBS Entertainment News, the Cheongju District Court is expected to hold the first hearing for Mr. A's charges of breach of trust under the Specific Economic Crimes Act on August 18. Mr. A was indicted without detention in 2022 for allegedly withdrawing 10 billion won from the association fees in 2020.
Mr. A announced that he has hired the law firm Yuseung as his legal representative and plans to take legal action against the reporters who raised the allegations, noting that most of the claims are not true.
