"Lost in Starlight" Kim Tae-ri revealed the reason for her voice acting challenge.
On the afternoon of the 27th, the media preview of the Netflix film "Lost in Starlight" took place at Lotte Cinema in Konkuk University, Seoul. Attending this event were Kim Tae-ri, Hong Gyeong, director Han Ji-won, and others who performed voice acting.
The first Korean animated feature film from Netflix, "Lost in Starlight" tells a romance about astronaut Nanyoung (played by Kim Tae-ri) who dreams of exploring Mars, and Jay (played by Hong Gyeong), who has set aside his dream of being a musician. This film is directed by Han Ji-won, whose debut work "Kopiruwak" won the "Indie Star" award at the Seoul Indie Animation Fest, and who has since been invited to major domestic and international film festivals like Sundance Film Festival and Palm Springs International Film Festival, rising to prominence in the Korean animation scene. Kim Tae-ri and Hong Gyeong are taking on the roles of the male and female leads, marking their first foray into voice acting, generating anticipation.
Kim Tae-ri noted, "At first, voice acting felt burdensome. But after meeting with the director and discussing it, they explained their desire to work with actors this time, and I was so persuaded by that. I had a strong desire to try it out together. I also found the script very interesting, and I liked the message the director wanted to convey. It was a script that made me curious about what kind of picture it would become when it was turned into a film," stating her reason for participating.
Hong Gyeong also said, "The writing by the director was attractive in itself. I thought that since the background is set in 2050, it would be something I could only imagine blindly, but when the director said that their animation style would be depicted, I was intrigued and wanted to do it without hesitation."
Meanwhile, "Lost in Starlight" will be released worldwide in over 190 countries via Netflix on the 30th.
