KBS2 'The Return of Superman' star Hwang Min Ho is in 6th grade, experiencing meaningful excitement and happiness as he celebrates his 'first sports day'.
Since its first broadcast in 2013, 'The Return of Superman' (hereafter 'Superman is Back') has earned the love of the public for 12 years. It includes Choo Sung Hoon and Choo Sa Rang, Song Il Kook and the triplets, Lee Dong Gook and his five children, Sam Hammington and the Wilben brothers, Sayuri and Zen, Kim Jun Ho with the Eun Woo and Jung Woo brothers, Jasson and Jun Bum. The show illuminates the valuable meaning of parenting, showing how parents unfamiliar with childcare find happiness through their children and sheds new light on various family forms, making it the only parenting program in Korea.
The 575th episode of 'Superman is Back', airing on the 28th (Wednesday), features the theme 'run, laugh, enjoy' and includes stories of Hwang Min Ho and Hwang Min Woo brothers, Jang Dong Min and his daughter Ji Woo, and Oh Jong Hyuk and his daughter Ro Ji. Hwang Min Ho can't hide his excitement as the sports day is held at school. The reason is that it is his very first sports day. The 6th grader states, 'I couldn't participate in the 1st and 2nd grades because of COVID-19, and couldn't go during the 3rd and 4th grades because I was working,' and fully expresses his excitement about finally participating in a sports day.
Hwang Min Ho, with rosy cheeks and a smile that never stops, tightly clasps his nervous hands and states, 'I was looking forward to this day,' his eyes sparkling. He wears a bright blue vest that shines brighter than the performance outfit and sits closely with friends, chattering non-stop. Finally entering the gymnasium, Hwang Min Ho exclaims, 'Wow, this is going to be fun!' from the moment he steps onto the field, letting out a huge cheer as he aims for victory in the sports day with a big smile.
The first event is a four-person relay. Hwang Min Ho cheerfully shouts, 'Left foot for one, right foot for two, let's go!' showcasing remarkable teamwork with his friends. However, at a certain moment, overwhelmed by passion, he smiles awkwardly and says, 'I wanted to win really badly since it's my first time,' which elicits laughter from everyone. Afterwards, Hwang Min Ho, celebrating the team's first victory, expresses, 'I'm tearing up,' giving a look as if he owns the world, and observing this, Park Soo Hong beams with a smile saying, 'Seeing that, it really shows he's a true elementary student.'
Hwang Min Ho fully enjoys the vibrant sports day by participating in the finale stage of K-pop random play dance. From 'Bikibiki' to 'Ombrenyu,' he explodes with talent and enthusiasm in front of all the students, quickly transforming the gymnasium into a concert venue. Upon seeing a video of himself lost in dance, he shyly laughs, saying, 'But why is this so embarrassing?' showing another charming side that brings laughter once more.
Meanwhile, the first parent-teacher consultation of Hwang Min Ho's parents draws much interest. His mother shares, 'As I'm a foreigner, I was quite worried about whether Min Ho could get along well with his friends,' carefully expressing her feelings, but contrary to her worries, the teacher gives a special compliment: 'Student Min Ho is polite and has never been late,' revealing Hwang Min Ho not just as a celebrity but as an elementary student. His friends also chime in, 'I want to be friends with Min Ho. He looks really kind,' bringing the biggest smiles to his parents' faces.
The lively and affectionate portrayal of elementary student Hwang Min Ho at his 'first sports day' will be revealed through the live broadcast of 'Superman is Back.'
