Singer IU is releasing her remake album 'Flower Bookmark 3' nearly 8 years after her last one, showcasing her 'remake expertise'.
At 6 p.m. on the 27th, IU will release her third remake album 'Flower Bookmark 3' through various music streaming sites. This album marks the return of the 'Flower Bookmark' series, which has been showcased around 8 years since 'Flower Bookmark 2' in 2017, and adds even more significance as it is her first new release in approximately 1 year and 3 months since her mini album 'The Winning' in February 2024.

'Flower Bookmark 3' includes a total of 6 tracks, featuring the title song 'Never Ending Story', as well as 'Red Sneakers', 'October 4th', 'Last Scene (Feat. Wonstein)', 'Beauty (Feat. Balming Tiger)', and 'The Dream of a Square'.
In this album, IU has newly interpreted famous songs while preserving the charm of the original works, imbuing them with her unique sensibility and lyrical voice. Having received acclaim for her various remake tracks in previous series such as 'Autumn Morning', 'Your Meaning', and 'The Rain Falls on a Sleepless Night', IU is expected to present deep emotions that span generations once again.
▶ Title track 'Never Ending Story'…IU adds lyricism to a classic
The title track 'Never Ending Story' is a representative song released by the band Resurrection in 2002, written and composed by Kim Tae-won and sung by Lee Seung-chul, earning much love as a classic song from the 2000s. For this remake, composer Seo Dong-hwan, who co-created IU's 'Love wins all', arranged the song, reinterpreting it into a dreamy and emotional atmosphere based on piano and strings.
▶ Diverse collaborations with Wonstein and Balming Tiger
'Last Scene' features the musician Wonstein, who has a unique vocal color, in a guest appearance. The arrangement includes contributions from Sumin and Slom, creating a sophisticated sound that artfully blends 'neat hipness'. Additionally, the original artist Lee Sang-soon from the band Roller Coaster participated with guitar performance, further enhancing the album's quality.
'Beauty' features the musician group Balming Tiger, who pioneered the alternative K-pop genre, involved in the arrangement, with member Sogeum also participating in the lyrics and composition of the outro. Attention is drawn to how IU and Balming Tiger have reinterpreted Shin Jung-hyun's 'Beauty', a legend of Korean rock.
In addition, various musicians such as Lee Jin-a, Cloud, Gu Young-jun, Je Hwi, and flexindoor have contributed to the new release.

The music video for 'Never Ending Story', released at the same time, was produced as a homage to the film 'Christmas in August'. Following the teaser released the day before (26th), reviews praised it as evoking the feel of an emotional movie, raising expectations for the main content. It was produced with official homage approval from the film's distributor, Sidus Pictures, and director Heo Jin-ho, with director Lee Raekyung, who has worked with IU on the music videos for 'Palette' and 'Evening Letter', at the helm.
The lyrical melody, IU's voice, and the beautiful visuals featuring actor Heo Nam-joon combine to evoke a lingering feeling reminiscent of a scene from an emotional film.
