The first night episode of comedian Shim Hyun-seop, who became a married man at 54, was aired on 'Joseon's Lover' and brought laughter.
In the episode aired on the 26th of 'Joseon's Lover' on TV Chosun, scenes of Shim Hyun-seop's honeymoon in Jeju Island, where he became a real newlywed after 54 years, were depicted.
Earlier, Shim Hyun-seop held a grand wedding ceremony with 1,400 guests celebrating and headed to a top-notch accommodation prepared by his close friend Lee Cheon-soo, together with his wife Jeong Young-rim. Upon arriving at the accommodation, Shim Hyun-seop expressed his eagerness for the first night, saying, "My heart is racing." He attempted to carry his wife inside but failed. Instead, holding hands tightly, he entered and exclaimed, "Did we just get married? Are we a couple now?" showing a look of disbelief.
Lee Cheon-soo and the production team discreetly gave them space, and the couple naturally headed to the bedroom. Subsequently, the audio abruptly cut off, leading to a suspension of the broadcast and inciting curiosity. The panelists joked, "Aren't you eating? It seems like there's no time to eat," causing roars of laughter.
Approximately two hours later, the production team returned to the accommodation, and as the doorbell rang, the couple appeared in matching outfits, exuding a warmer atmosphere.
Later, the two began a cozy meal in a quiet restaurant. When his wife Jeong Young-rim suggested, "It's nice to have a place where we can talk while eating," Shim Hyun-seop replied, "For my first first night, I want it to be romantic and spicy."
Following that, the couple even danced to blues music in the restaurant, and Shim Hyun-seop revealed, "My parents danced together when they were alive, and I grew up watching that. Today, I finally accomplished it."
