Yum Jung-ah captured the taste buds of her younger siblings with oyster rice soup in the tvN entertainment program 'Fresh off the Sea.'
In the 7th episode of the tvN entertainment program 'Fresh off the Sea 2' aired on the 25th, Yum Jung-ah was depicted captivating her siblings with her exceptional cooking skills.
On this day, with the largest ever crew of six members in 'Fresh off the Sea,' the siblings, along with close friends Kim Jae-hwa and Yoon Kyung-ho, began the serious task of oyster gathering off the coast of Wando. While everyone worked hard, Lee Jae-wook became a human pulley, lifting a pile of oysters weighing 150 kg from the sea. Due to his height of 187 cm, he had to bend deeply, and he complained, "My back hurts so much. The oysters are extremely heavy."
Eventually, Lee Jae-wook, even raising veins in his neck while struggling, burst into laughter, saying, "I can't even think about lifting it." In response, Kim Jae-hwa kindly offered, "Does your back hurt? Let's switch places," while Lim Ji-yeon expressed concern, saying, "It must be hard, it's heavy."
However, Kim Jae-hwa showcased a professional demeanor that even the captain admired. The captain was keen, and Lee Jae-wook praised, "Wow, noona, you really know how to hold the sickle." Kim Jae-hwa impressively worked even in difficult spots. Lee Jae-wook remarked, "Noona, you're truly incredible. The best," to which Kim Jae-hwa replied with a smile, "I like being good at work."
Completing about 1 ton of oyster gathering combined, the siblings then proceeded to clean the oysters. While everyone complained about finding the oyster gaps difficult, Yoon Kyung-ho, who had figured out a method on his own, explained, "Ah, I see. When the gap in the oyster shell slightly opens, if you insert a knife and cut through the gap, it opens up."
Notably, Yoon Kyung-ho played a colorectal surgeon in the Netflix series drama 'The Trauma Code: Heroes on Call.' He humorously said, "Since I'm a colorectal surgeon, it's easy for me. If you have problems in that area, come see me."
In addition, Yoon Kyung-ho learned a recipe from Yum Jung-ah on 'Occasional CEO 3' and made sweet rice drink, achieving sold-out results at a U.S. supermarket. Known as the 'sweet rice drink apprentice,' Yoon Kyung-ho started making sweet pumpkin sweet rice drink with Yum Jung-ah.
Knowing it would take over 7 hours, Yoon Kyung-ho quickly finished the setup and greeted, "Master, it's been a while." Yum Jung-ah responded, "I can't believe I'm making sweet rice drink with my disciple," while she smiled happily at Yoon Kyung-ho's timely preparations, saying, "Our Kyung-ho knows how to do it all since he's experienced."
The two made a large batch of sweet rice drink, totaling 2 liters, which produced 13 bottles. Lee Jae-wook exclaimed, "I thought it was a sweet rice drink factory!"
Meanwhile, Yum Jung-ah began with sweet rice drink and cooked the main dish, oyster rice soup. Beside her, Yoon Kyung-ho grilled oysters and abalone over direct heat, while Lee Jae-wook prepared sea bream soup. At the same moment, the kitchen showcased their handmade seaweed and seasoned spring onion sauce.
With a lavish spread completed, the members tasted Yum Jung-ah's oyster rice soup first. Lee Jae-wook and Park Joon Myun exclaimed in admiration, while Kim Jae-hwa said, "The oysters are delicious, so it's so good."
Yoon Kyung-ho said, "Noona, you're truly like Dae Jang Geum," as he devoured the oyster rice soup, adding, "Since the oysters are mixed with bean sprouts, the texture is much more varied, which is great. The radish gives it a refreshing taste," and he praised, "It would really sell well."
