The novel 'Architectural Infinite Six-Sided Polyhedron' (by Jang Yong-min) is being adapted into a visual format.
Today (26th), Jaedam Media, a production company specializing in comics, webtoons, and novel intellectual property, announced that it has signed a contract with video production company HYBE Media Corp. for the adaptation of 'Architectural Infinite Six-Sided Polyhedron'.
'Architectural Infinite Six-Sided Polyhedron' is an impressive novel that traverses the unique literary style and mystery of author Jang Yong-min. This adaptation is gaining attention as an original material that combines the mystery genre with literature.
The story centers on a college student in Korean literature named 'Ji-woo' who chooses 'Lee Sang', an architect and poet, as the subject of her graduation thesis. With a lack of relevant materials and frequent rejections of her thesis, Ji-woo accidentally discovers an internet cafe studying Lee Sang and begins formulating hypotheses about him and his poem 'Architectural Infinite Six-Sided Polyhedron' with a person she meets there named 'Eun-pyo'. However, as mysterious emails related to their story begin to arrive, strange incidents occur where people connected to the novel's settings are murdered. Ji-woo and Eun-pyo also face threats to their lives as the truth of the events and the secrets Eun-pyo is concealing gradually come to light.
HYBE Media Corp., in charge of this adaptation, is a video production company known for producing films that possess both artistic and popular qualities, such as 'Spring of Seoul' and 'Insiders', and is expected to complete 'Architectural Infinite Six-Sided Polyhedron' as a new standard for the mystery thriller genre based on its high level of completeness and know-how regarding genre works.
Jang Yong-min, a prominent author in the genre of mystery and suspense, garnered enthusiastic support from readers upon the release of 'The Ultimate Eye', which won the Grand Prize at the 2011 Korean Story Contest, and received acclaim as the best Korean mystery that year. Another work, 'The Well of Buchihanan', was performed as a musical last year.
Meanwhile, Jaedam Media is actively developing visual adaptation projects based on webtoons and novel intellectual property, and the drama 'Weak Hero Class 2', in which it co-produced, has recently been released on Netflix and is garnering significant interest.
