Actress Lim Seong-eun is embroiled in reports of her husband A's 20 billion won fraud allegations just nine days after their marriage, while personal social media is flooded with real-time protest comments from 'residential housing victims.' The agency and legal representatives said it is "not true" and have announced plans for legal action.
Lim Seong-eun's agency noted in a phone call with OSEN on the 26th, "As this is a private matter, we are meeting the parties involved to ascertain the facts" and that the agency was unware of A's situation while preparing for the wedding. "We will organize an official stance and reveal it to the public as soon as possible."
In the meantime, Lim Seong-eun's personal Instagram has seen a surge of comments from those claiming to be victims of residential housing fraud. On a post related to a performance that Lim Seong-eun shared on the 5th to engage with her fans, comments like "I am a real victim. As the controversy escalated uncontrollably, the law firm representing Lim Seong-eun and her husband A released an additional statement saying, "The articles in question were written in collusion with creditors and have been indiscriminately spread without verification of the facts," and added, "We are considering civil and criminal actions for defamation and illegal activities and are currently organizing an official position."
A is currently under investigation for fraud, breach of trust, and embezzlement, according to earlier reports by a media outlet, and there are allegations of him having a past record of three fraud convictions. Notably, it has been reported that he made a statement during a call with a creditor before the marriage saying, "I am getting married to avoid arrest," which has added fuel to the fire.
