Park Jin-Young shared the process he prepared for 'High Five.'
On the 26th, the press screening and reporters' meeting for the movie 'High Five' (directed by Kang Hyung-Chul, distributed by NEW, produced by Annapurna Pictures) took place at the CGV Yongsan I-Park Mall in Seoul. The event was attended by director Kang Hyung-Chul, actors Lee Jae-In, Ahn Jae-Hong, Ra Mi-Ran, Kim Hee-Won, Oh Jung-Se, and Park Jin-Young.
The movie 'High Five,' set to be released domestically on May 30 (Friday), is a comic action film that depicts a story about five individuals who accidentally gain superpowers through organ transplants and encounter those who seek their abilities.
Park Jin-Young appeared as the villain 'Young-Chun,' who seeks the powers of the team 'High Five' after gaining superpowers alongside organ transplants.
That day, Park Jin-Young noted, "I had many fighting scenes, and I thought it could be difficult each time, but the director gave me precise directions in every scene. Since I just trusted the director, I think we ended up with some perfect CGI."
He recalled, "As for the exposure from taking off my upper clothes in the movie, I remember there was a line in the script that said 'It's like a beast.' Instead of just making my body look good, I thought about what kind of body the character would have if they suddenly gained strength. Rather than trying to bulk up, I wanted my muscles to be clearly visible, so I tried to diet and reduce my food intake."
Park Jin-Young, who particularly took on the 'two-in-one role' with Shin-Goo, stated, "Thanks to the director's request, Shin-Goo himself read my lines. He also allowed me to record it."
He added, "While continuing to practice that, I met the director intermittently to check in, and at some point, the speech and voice were fitted, so I aimed to bring that out as much as possible on set. I tried to find a middle ground that neutralized Shin-Goo's identity and mine."
