Voice actor Im Soo-a, known for her role in 'Detective Conan,' has passed away.
The funeral service for voice actor Im Soo-a will be held today, at 8 a.m. at Seoul National University Hospital.
According to the Korea Voice Actors Association, voice actor Im Soo-a passed away on the 22nd. She was 73 years old.
The news of the passing was shared by fellow voice actor Jung Sung-hoon on his personal social media. Jung wrote, "I pray for the soul of senior Im Soo-a" in a post to commemorate her last moment.
Voice actor Im Soo-a began her broadcasting career in 1968, joining TBC as part of its 4th class. Amidst the media merger situation, she was classified as a 10th class voice actor at KBS, solidifying her presence in the industry.
In particular, she frequently provided voice work for Disney animations that KBS showcased every weekend morning. Additionally, she played both major and minor roles in KBS foreign dubbing.
Furthermore, she showcased her voice talent in various animations throughout her life. Notable works include 'Casper the Friendly Ghost,' 'Detective Conan,' 'The Sand Fairy,' 'Future Boy Conan,' 'Anne of Green Gables,' 'We Are the Champions,' 'Sleeping Beauty,' and 'Pocahontas.'
She also contributed to foreign dubbing, participating in films such as 'Memoirs of a Geisha,' 'While You Were Sleeping,' 'Liar Liar,' 'Romeo and Juliet,' 'Minority Report,' 'Men in Black,' 'Gone with the Wind,' 'Billy Elliot,' 'Desperate Housewives,' 'If Only,' 'Il Postino,' and the 'Harry Potter' series.
Tributes are pouring in for the late voice actor, who will be remembered as a beautiful voice in the memories of the public.
The wake has been arranged in Room 11 of the Seoul National University Hospital funeral hall, and the burial site is the Seoul Memorial Park.
