Actress Kim Nam-joo, known as the 'Queen of Insight,' has taken on her first solo entertainment show.
On 22nd, SBS Life's 'Queen of Insight' premiered featuring actress Kim Nam-joo, who lives a comfortable life in a mansion that has been her home for 20 years. Kim showcased a garden that captures the essence of spring and a heavy yet profound green front gate. A proud smile was on her face.
Kim Nam-joo noted, "I said I couldn't do YouTube, but I actually watch a lot of YouTube myself. People have stopped watching TV and look for things online now. I think the trend has changed a lot. Should I give it a try? Do you think people will recognize me nowadays?"
Kim Nam-joo revealed a tidy yet simple entrance and a spacious living room filled with natural light. The living room, adorned with various designer furniture and artworks, resembled a small art museum. Kim commented, "The house is very tidy, right? I couldn't live like this before," stating that when raising her children, the living room was cramped with many items. "But I cleared everything out to the other room yesterday," she said, noting the organization achieved after being liberated from parenting.
Kim Nam-joo continued, "The land is larger than other dwellings. I could not tear down the framework, so I built it exactly as the old house. Thus, the house isn't very big. It has been 20 years since this dwelling was built," and added, "The exterior is 20 years old, and because of the kids, the living room floor has been worn out a couple of times so I made it cleaner and replaced it due to mold."
Kim Nam-joo has carefully tended to her 80-pyeong mansion, which features a 100-year-old French-style fountain, a fountain decorated with Moroccan tiles, a garden with Western-style awnings, and flowers and trees personally planted by her mother.
Among these, some touch and breath of Kim Seung-woo were present. Kim Nam-joo shared, "Do these flowers seem old? I recently got them from my husband Kim Seung-woo after I made a fuss because he didn't celebrate Valentine's Day. I don't like gold-colored flowers; I prefer pink or red," as she showcased small objects. In a bathroom resembling a compact European space, Kim Nam-joo noted, "My husband Kim Seung-woo said he had never met a woman who asked for a faucet as a gift," and proudly revealed that the faucet was a gift from him when he visited Paris.
Additionally, the green front gate that caught attention from the entrance was also a gift from Kim Seung-woo. Kim Nam-joo recalled, "My husband Kim Seung-woo said he would buy me a birthday gift, and I requested that green front gate. He said it was the first time he bought a front gate as a birthday gift. But it seems like it must have been tough for him. It took eight months for that gate to arrive. My husband is the type who can't wait if he wants something, while I have the patience to wait."
Kim Nam-joo personally prepared a meal for her close staff. She humbly remarked, "I guess I'm not that interested in cooking. I forget the recipes when I cook after a long time. But when I look at the book, it tastes good. I focus more on plating rather than taste."
She added, "I feel sorry for Kim Seung-woo. There was a mission to bring lunch boxes during the entertainment filming, and at that time I was in the process of making baby food, so I didn't cook meals then. So I packed little by little. However, my husband enjoyed it very much," continuing to boast about Kim Seung-woo.
