Hwang In-hyuk from 'Exclusive World' was depicted as a 26-year veteran shaman.
The MBN program 'Exclusive World,' which aired on the afternoon of the 22nd, revealed the recent circumstances of actor Hwang In-hyuk.
Meeting Hwang In-hyuk at a prayer site, he introduced himself by saying, "I am Hwang In-hyuk, currently working as an exorcist." Hwang In-hyuk, who was active as an actor, has been living as a shaman since a sudden divine revelation in 2003.
Hwang In-hyuk, who has been on the path of a shaman for 26 years, moved from Seoul to Cheongju in North Chungcheong Province seven years ago and settled there. Hwang In-hyuk, who performs exorcisms as a shaman for other shamans, explained, "I deal with those who are possessed who have tried everything. They visit hospitals and go to other shamans to conduct rites. Many of them come to me as a last resort."
Hwang In-hyuk, who first entered the entertainment industry as an advertising model, noted that he transitioned to acting. He revealed the reason for walking the path of a shaman, saying, "This was 25 or 26 years ago, but when I laid down to sleep, the general and the grim reaper would be standing there. I even went to a mental hospital. I wanted to die. It was so tormenting. I felt sorry for my parents."
Hwang In-hyuk, a father of one son and one daughter, explained the reason for living apart from his family was to avoid hurting his children. He shared, "When my eldest daughter was young, an incident occurred. The (shaman daughter) asked me to make sure our daughter couldn't play with her. There was such a commotion as rumors spread throughout the neighborhood that we had to move."
