Amid the ongoing chaos in the entertainment industry caused by fake news, Go Hyun-jung also fell victim to YouTube-originated false reports.
On the 21st, a new video titled "Go Hyun-jung Vlog 9" was uploaded to Go Hyun-jung's YouTube channel. This vlog video was released six months after the previous video, "Vlog 8," which was posted last November.
That day, Go Hyun-jung participated in a fashion brand collection event in New York, updating her subscribers on her current situation. She opened with, "I feel very sorry that I haven't been able to work on vlogs for over four months."
Go Hyun-jung explained the reason for her long absence, saying, "I had to rest because I was unwell, and because of that, I couldn't go anywhere. So after getting healthy, I wanted to let you know about more fun things that you're curious about and was preparing for that."
She added, "I plan to update you with my news starting from this trip, and I will try to address your questions like 'Where are you going?' as soon as possible. I also want to visit the places I've wanted to go, using vlogs as an excuse. I will come to see you often."
At the end of the video, shocking news was also reported. The production team mentioned the rumors of Go Hyun-jung's death during her break from YouTube, stating, "I was very surprised," and Go Hyun-jung reacted with, "Oh, was there really something like that? It's shocking…" Meanwhile, a subtitle appeared that said, "Go Hyun-jung will continue the new chapter regarding the death rumor in the next episode," adding to the shock with thumbnails of the 'fake news' that had circulated on YouTube.
Prior to Go Hyun-jung, several stars in the entertainment industry expressed anger over 'YouTube-originated fake news.' Among them were singer Na Hoon-a, comedian Shin Gi-ru, broadcaster Kang Ho-dong, and singer Hong Seo-beom, who were involved in death rumors and quickly clarified the situation to combat fake news.
Meanwhile, Go Hyun-jung did not attend the production presentation of Genie TV's 'Namib' due to health issues last December. After undergoing surgery, she focused on her recovery. Once healthy again, Go Hyun-jung resumed her activities and began filming for a drama, set to air in the second half of the year on SBS titled 'Praying Mantis.'
