A festival unique to i-dle unfolded under the shimmering city night?!
The group performed live their recently released song 'Good Thing' on Kakao Entertainment's global K-pop media 1theK original content 'Outdoor Recording Studio'. On the 21st, the group's live performance, which was released on the 1theK Live YouTube channel, showcased the unique tones and strong vocals of the five members: Mia, Minnie, So-yeon, Wugie, and Shuhua, filled with fantastic harmony. The dazzling city lights blended beautifully, creating a festival unique to i-dle, reminiscent of a midnight concert.
The 'Outdoor Recording Studio' by 1theK is an innovative content that allows audiences to experience live performances by singers in everyday spaces like buses, restaurants, cafes, and supermarkets. On this day, against the backdrop of the dark Seoul city center, the members, styled in bold short cuts and extravagant outfits, radiated urban sensibility, blending seamlessly with the colorful city lights. The members delivered explosive live performances with their unique tones, displaying their characteristics as 'K-pop live queens.' They also added cuteness with the signature 'thumbs up' dance move.
The song 'Good Thing,' performed by the group, is the title track of their recently released mini album 'We Are,' the 8th in their discography. It is a self-composed song by member So-yeon, featuring retro sound instruments, witty 8-bit sounds, and an addictive hook. All the members signed a reacquisition agreement with CUBE Entertainment and changed their group's name from (G)I-DLE to i-dle, presenting their first album on their 7th debut anniversary. The members expressed confidence, saying, "This album shows a transformation in genre and style, allowing us to present a new side of ourselves," which resonates in their music, attracting global fans' interest.
1theK's filming narrowed the distance to the live performance, almost as if watching it from 1 meter away, boosting the group's confidence, while alternating shots of the fantastic city nightscape and the members created a sophisticated mood. The harmony of the members, resounding in the Seoul night sky, blended with the refreshing spring air, stimulating the eardrums of global listeners as if watching a midnight concert.
Wang Seong-hyeon, the PD who directed the i-dle episode of 'Outdoor Recording Studio,' noted, "The beautiful and vibrant energy radiating from the Seoul night view harmonized well with the mood of the group," adding that the live sounds conveyed the charm and emotion of 'outdoor live' as if listening to the members' performances in person, successfully capturing the eyes and ears of fans worldwide.
