'The Return of Superman' Park In-bee's daughter displayed her golf prodigy traits.
On the 21st, the KBS 2TV entertainment program 'The Return of Superman' (hereafter 'Sūdol') aired an episode titled 'The greatest gift of my life,' showcasing the daily life of the Park In-bee family.
On that day, Park In-bee's parents visited her home to celebrate the second birthday of their first daughter, In-seo.
Park In-bee's parents always supported their daughter, who started playing golf at 11 and went abroad to accumulate various awards. Park In-bee's father said, 'In-bee is an undeserving daughter to me. There are times I find her admirable,' while her mother proudly noted, 'She has grown up so wonderfully that I want to applaud her two or three times more.'
Park In-bee even revealed a story about how her parents traveled across the country to support her in changing just one golf club during her junior years.
Park In-bee said, 'In fact, the reason the ball doesn't hit well is not because of the club, but my dad always bought me a new club, saying it's the club's fault.' To which her father responded, 'Every time there was a competition, I would come up from Jeju Island to Seoul with the club and go back down,' and he felt proud, saying, 'In the end, I won.' Her mother added, 'I drained all my retirement funds,' which drew attention.
Meanwhile, on her second birthday, In-seo received a custom golf club as a gift. Holding a club perfectly suited to her size, Park In-bee encouraged, 'Let's try swinging once, In-seo. Swing it. Let's address it.' In-seo successfully made her swing, showcasing amazing skills at 24 months, leaving the panel in awe.
However, Park In-bee's husband said, 'This time, pay attention and swing once. Don't joke around,' entering coach mode. Park In-bee agreed, saying, 'It fits in length,' while the grandparents chimed in. When someone in the studio remarked, 'She's still young,' Park In-bee responded, 'I think she can make the backswing.' As predicted, In-seo succeeded in the backswing and shouted, 'Fighting!' causing astonishment.
In particular, Park In-bee's father remarked, 'Since In-seo also teaches golf,' and turned to In-seo, saying, 'In-seo, grow up quickly and fulfill your father's wish. Become a wonderful golfer.' He expressed in an interview, 'My wish is to carry In-seo's golf bag and be her caddy.'
Meanwhile, Park In-bee's mother asked her, 'Don't you think about returning?' When Park In-bee replied, 'It's not easy, leaving these children,' her mother countered, 'Wouldn't you think about standing on the field just once with the kids?' In a follow-up interview, her mother shared, 'I want to see her on the field just once, holding hands with the kids, clapping and participating in a competition. It's a personal wish.'
Upon seeing this, Park Soo-hong asked, 'Didn't you have an official retirement match?' Park In-bee, who set a record by winning an Olympic gold medal in 2016, the first in 116 years, officially stopped her golf career after her last match in 2022. Park In-bee noted, 'In fact, if I want to go back, I can return anytime. When the kids grow a little, I want to show them playing golf.'
Nevertheless, she added, 'But realistically,' and mentioned, 'You saw how I play. I lose to Nam Gi-hyeob,' referring to her husband whom she previously lost twice in a game. In response, Park Soo-hong exclaimed, 'Then why do you kill the national treasure spirit?' making everyone laugh.
