Go Min-si's magic also worked in romantic comedies.
The Genie TV original 'Tastefully Yours' (planned by KT Studio Genie, produced by Shortcake, creator Han Jun-hee, written by Jung Su-yoon, directed by Park Dan-hee) has not only achieved the remarkable feat of ranking 2nd in Netflix's global TOP 10 non-English TV shows (May 12, 2025 - May 18, 2025), but is also on a steady course, topping the ratings and captivating the viewers' five senses. In particular, it claimed the top spot in Netflix in 17 countries, including South Korea, and entered the TOP 10 in 53 countries, succeeding in both OTT and viewer ratings.
At the center of it all were Kang Ha-neul (as Han Beom-woo) and Go Min-si (as Mo Yeon-joo), who showcased 'the flavor of rom-com' with their excellent chemistry.
In the drama, Mo Yeon-joo (played by Go Min-si) is an owner chef who, by chance, settled in Jeonju and operates a fine dining restaurant called 'Jeongje,' infusing her own philosophy and sincerity into the dishes. However, she was barely avoiding deficits due to the fastidious selection of each ingredient, dissatisfaction with the shop's location, and a lack of promotion. Just then, Han Beom-woo (played by Kang Ha-neul) appeared, bringing a new turning point for Mo Yeon-joo and 'Jeongje.'
Their relationship began with a contract between Mo Yeon-joo, who lacked management and marketing skills, and Han Beom-woo, who was there to help, but Han Beom-woo soon found himself gradually absorbed by Mo Yeon-joo's talent, personality, and genuine passion for cooking. With acknowledged culinary skill and a seasoned hand, her determined and capable personality, along with the softness contained within her aloofness, was enough to melt the unapproachable heir Han Beom-woo's heart.
In particular, Mo Yeon-joo's dishes were so outstanding that once tasted, one would quickly become captivated, turning even Han Beom-woo's heart, who had come to steal her recipes. This piqued curiosity about her unusual background. Furthermore, while sorting out a burnt restaurant, Jin Myeong-sook (played by Kim Shin-rok) discovered a certificate from a prestigious foreign culinary school and past photos presumed to be Mo Yeon-joo's, drawing attention to the story of how she came to Jeonju to run 'Jeongje.'
With exceptional abilities in one field and a shrouded past, Mo Yeon-joo shines even more through Go Min-si's multidimensional acting. Go Min-si made the audience want to know and see Mo Yeon-joo, convincingly portraying the multiple facets of her character. Thanks to her, Mo Yeon-joo could be a stubborn chef, an owner who temporarily compromises her principles, and a woman whose heart softens due to a man for a moment. In this way, Go Min-si's performances encompass everything from sweetness to a rich flavor, providing unique experiences in each episode.
In this way, Go Min-si breathes life into the character Mo Yeon-joo with her sincere acting. Her lovely charm is making her a new chemistry fairy, and her performance is garnering attention.
