O Gwang-rok had a meal with his son for the first time in over 30 years.
In the episode of TV Chosun aired on the afternoon of 20th, O Gwang-rok met with his son O Si-won to have a meal together.
In the past, O Gwang-rok noted that he lost contact with his son after his divorce, and they had not lived together. He mentioned that it had been about 7 years since they last saw each other before the COVID-19 pandemic.
After a meeting of 7 years, the two had their first meal together in over 30 years. Regarding the reason for wanting to meet again, O Gwang-rok's son stated, "I wanted to eat together and have a conversation," adding that he took the initiative to set up the appointment. It was the first time they had met for a meal.
O Gwang-rok, who had just come back from visiting his grandfather, mentioned, "This year marks the 70th wedding anniversary with my grandmother. She passed away suddenly," referring to his mother who recently passed away. The son noted that it had been 9 years since he last received a call from his grandparents.
The son expressed his sadness, saying, "I stopped answering my dad's calls and didn't answer my grandmother's calls either. I didn't even get to see her before she passed." He remarked, "I have a lot of regrets. It feels empty and unbelievable. I thought it was time to change, so I was planning to visit, but it was too late."
