Comedian Park Bo-mi expressed her longing and affectionate feelings on the 2nd anniversary of her son Simon's passing.
On the 20th, Park Bo-mi revealed her deep yearning through her social media, stating, "Today marks the 2nd year since our Simon became an angel. I miss our impressive and admirable Park Simon so much."
She continued, "Suddenly, a bee appeared in the sea where there are no trees or flowers," adding, "It seems like Simon, who always appeared as a round moon to us, has come today as a bee," which touched the hearts of those watching.
Park Bo-mi also shared memories from the beach where she gathered with her family to honor her son. "Bo-mi, Yo-han, Su-mi, Hyeongja Mom, myself, and my brother, the six of us went with six rose flowers," she said, noting, "Each flower felt like Simon was comforting each one of us, filling us with solace and longing."
Park Bo-mi married soccer player Park Yo-han in December 2020 and welcomed her son Simon in February 2022. However, in May of last year, Simon experienced cardiac arrest due to a sudden fever, and though his heart miraculously resumed beating, his condition gradually worsened. Park Bo-mi confessed, "The hospital told me to decide to say goodbye to the child. I understood I had to let go in my mind, but it was so sad to think I would never see my child, who looked like he was asleep, again," adding, "Ultimately, on May 21, 2023, at 5:17 p.m., I sent Simon to heaven."
Overcoming her pain, Park Bo-mi is waiting for new life; she revealed the process of in vitro fertilization last January. She explained, "To have a child, I underwent three egg retrievals to obtain an embryo that passed the pre-implantation genetic testing (PGT), and finally, with the embryo that passed, I did my first frozen transfer at the end of December last year."
However, the results were not easy. "I prepared with a heart to fully entrust it to God, but the result was a figure of 0.20, non-pregnant," she shared, saying, "The moment I saw the result, tears I had been holding back poured out."
Despite this, Park Bo-mi is filled with longing for her lost son while also nurturing new hope. Her courageous confession has brought deep resonance and support to many.
