Singer Baekhyun is set to release new music and embark on full-scale activities.
The agency INB100 announced on the afternoon of the 19th that they posted the music video for the title track 'Elevator' along with the release of Baekhyun's fifth mini album 'Essence of Reverie.'
The released video starts with Baekhyun being drawn to a dreamlike person he encounters in an elevator. As he continues his busy daily life filled with photoshoots, video shoots, and dance practice as an artist, he feels a lingering confusion as that person seems to hover in his view, ultimately concluding with him waking up as if all scenes were a dream.
In particular, in the final scene, someone hands a drink to Baekhyun, who has a dazed expression, and a drawing of lemonade appears on the screen along with the text 'NEXT,' raising anticipation for a sequel.
The new album 'Essence of Reverie' tells a story about Baekhyun, who stands at the boundary between reality and ideals. It symbolically expresses reflections on the past he has built up and the future he will continue as the essence of artist Baekhyun. The title track 'Elevator' is a pop R&B genre that blends a catchy guitar and synth sound over a trap beat, expressing the heart of a loved one as the space of an 'elevator,' evoking a romantic sentiment.
In addition to releasing this fifth mini album, Baekhyun is set to hold the Seoul performance of his first solo world tour 'Reverie' at the KSPO Dome in June. As he steadily grows as a solo artist and establishes a 'Baekhyun-style genre,' his future activities will be keenly watched.
