Singer Shin Sung-woo drew attention by revealing the gifted traits of his first son, who is ranked in the top 0.1% nationwide.
On the broadcast of Channel A's 'Close Friends Documentary – Dining Table for Four' aired on the 19th, Shin invited his close friends, actors Jung Young-joo, Yoon So-yi, and guitarist Jang Ho-il, to his home, showcasing his candid and cheerful remarks.
That day, Shin said, 'My first son took an exam and placed in the top 20 nationwide,' and added, 'If he goes to Harvard, it will be a sure thing,' eliciting both awe and laughter from the cast. He also mentioned, 'I have made plans for the future with royalties for my two younger sons,' revealing his caring side as a father.
Shin also shared a behind-the-scenes story about the fashion of 'baggy pants' that garnered attention in the past. He recounted, 'During my rookie days, I had no clothes to wear because I did all my laundry on the day of the broadcast. I wore my sister's baggy pants and went out. I expected the stylist to bring stage outfits, but they just sent me on stage as I was,' which made everyone burst into laughter. It was also mentioned that the outfit became his 'trademark.'
The backstory of the hit song 'Seo-Si' was also revealed. Shin recalled, 'At that time, a friend was whining because his girlfriend studied abroad, and while having a drink of soju with gamjatang (pork bone soup), I felt a strange mood when it started to rain. I told my colleague who was playing the guitar to 'stay just like that' and sat on the sofa, creating the song in just 10 minutes.' He further added, 'If I create a song, I should take responsibility for it until the end.'
Shin noted, 'I participated in the lyrics and composition of all the songs since my first album, and I have registered over 120 songs for copyright,' which also showed his pride as an artist.
Meanwhile, Shin has been actively appearing in entertainment and broadcasts, showcasing his human side. Shin married his 16-year-younger wife, whom he dated for four years, in 2016, and they have two sons.
