Seo Jang-hoon was enraged by the story of the contributor.
On the 19th episode of KBS Joy's "Ask Us Anything Fortune Teller" (hereafter referred to as "Ask Anything"), episode 317, a contributor appeared, stating that their unhappiness began with their mother's remarriage.
The contributor confessed that after their mother remarried a Moroccan man, she started wearing a hijab and began to impose it on them. The stepfather reportedly referred to them as "like a rag." The contributor, who had been forced to wear a hijab since 5th grade, added that they had even been bullied because of it.
The contributor noted, "I entered middle school and was crying while talking to the counselor, who said that child abuse was suspected since I was wearing a hijab even in the hot summer. I was placed in a child protection facility. After returning home six months later, the retaliation intensified. The severity of the violence escalated from slapping during elementary school to hitting until I had bruises and even objects being thrown at me."
The contributor confessed, "I felt I couldn't live anymore when I got to high school and attempted suicide. When I regained consciousness, I found my friends holding my arms," and Seo Jang-hoon advised, "No matter what, you must never do that."
The contributor added, "I re-entered a youth shelter and stayed there for about three years before coming home. My sister asked me to return home. Luckily, I got a job at a mid-sized manufacturing corporation, but I used my salary for family living expenses. I have additional younger siblings. One has significant disabilities, cannot communicate, and exhibits violent tendencies. There is also a youngest sibling, making a total of six siblings."
While listening to the contributor's story, Seo Jang-hoon appealed, "Incheon City Hall and Michuhol District need to address this family situation. How can this be happening in 2025? They must be separated as soon as possible. Since it's said they're in a difficult environment, I sincerely ask for help."
Seo Jang-hoon advised, "It breaks my heart to see that you've suffered so much. It's tragic. You are only 24 years old. There are countless days left to live. You have nothing. There will likely be support offered by local governments for someone like you. For the time being, stay in a shelter while learning a job suited for you and build your independence. Cut ties completely with your parents. You no longer have a family. Make that decision in your heart."
Seo Jang-hoon said to the contributors' parents, "I can't say this publicly because it's a broadcast. Live your life reflecting and atoning for your actions."
