Girl group VVS has returned with another bold move.
VVS shook the K-pop girl group landscape by releasing their debut mini-album 'D.I.M.M (Diamonds In My Mouth)' on 19th. The rookie girl group's impressive track record of releasing new songs without pause includes last month's debut single 'TEA' and 'Fact$' and this month's 'Purrfect'.
'D.I.M.M' is a hip-hop and R&B album filled with the intense energy of five members: Britney, Aily, Lana, Jiwoo, and Leewon. It consists of five tracks and an interlude featuring a special guest. The titular track is especially intriguing as it pays homage to the legendary hip-hop producer DJ Screw. VVS exhibits an overwhelming presence with rapping, performance, and visuals that are not typically found in existing idols.
The choreography for the title track was completed through a collaboration between We Dem Boyz and Shimizu. They achieved the best synergy through a top-class performer and organic integration. VVS's unique swag, energy, and distinct style are deeply infused. These characteristics are fully captured in the music video alongside music that stays true to the roots of hip-hop.
VVS is the first girl group of the multinational label MZMC. MZMC's representative, Paul Brian Thompson, is a songwriter and producer who has created countless K-pop hits by collaborating with artists like Taeyeon, EXO, Red Velvet, NCT, and Kang Daniel. VVS is referred to as the top-class five gemstones, changing the texture of K-pop.
VVS's first mini-album 'D.I.M.M', containing intense hip-hop sounds, and the music video for the title track can be accessed on major music sites and YouTube.
