The 'Earth Monopoly World Travel 3' produced by TEO has received a high response from tourists as a sacred place.
The entertainment project 'Earth Monopoly World Travel 3' (hereafter 'Earth Monopoly 3') from TEO and ENA features travel creators Pani Bottle, Wonji, and Kwaktube, who participated in a world travel monopoly game designed by PD Kim Tae-ho. They rely on dice to travel various parts of the world, and the show has been smoothly cruising, achieving a peak viewership rating of 3.1% in season 3 (according to Nielsen Korea).
'Earth Monopoly 3' began with a domestic episode before embarking on a full-fledged world tour, showcasing a differentiated storyline from previous seasons. The daily guide 'Kwak Pawan' captivated viewers with a delightful culinary journey in Jeollanam-do, and since the broadcast, locations they visited have received explosive interest as must-visit spots for tourists.
In fact, the number of tourists visiting Mokpo, Gwangyang, Damyang, and Boseong after the broadcast surged, reaching peak crowds during the golden holiday period. Furthermore, weekend tourism continues to increase as well. In particular, in the case of Mokpo, which was visited by the group of three, it has been reported that the famous tourist spots, such as foods representing the 9 flavors of Mokpo introduced through the broadcast, culinary attractions, and the marine cable car, are drawing tourist attention.
Not only Mokpo, but the number of tourists visiting Gwangyang, where Pani Bottle went, as well as Damyang (Wonji) and Boseong (Kwaktube) has significantly increased. The restaurants visited by the guests, such as Wonji's soybean soup, Pani Bottle's Gwangyang bulgogi, and Kwaktube's cockle set meal, have also transformed into hot spots for food lovers.
'Earth Monopoly 3' is playing a significant role as a leader in revitalizing the local economy, driving the inflow of regional visitors. With the overlap of the golden holiday, positive responses have emerged in the commercial districts of Jeollanam-do. Various social media platforms have seen popular posts featuring food lists from Mokpo culinary trips and travels inspired by watching 'Earth Monopoly' season 3, garnering significant interest.
This is also being evaluated as a good example of tourism promotion linked to broadcasting and achieving regional co-prosperity. The Jeonnam provincial tourism office plans to introduce various local delicacies, ingredients, and attractions through 'Earth Monopoly 3' and is expected to gear up for the 2025 Namdo Food Expo, which will be held in October.
Meanwhile, ENA's Saturday entertainment show 'Earth Monopoly World Travel 3' airs every Saturday at 7:50 p.m.
