SHINee showcases a step forward as an 'artist' through the new song 'Poet | Artist.'
The single 'Poet | Artist' consists of two tracks, the title track 'Poet | Artist' and the included song 'Starlight,' and all tracks will be released on various music sites at midnight on May 25, the date of SHINee's debut.
The title track 'Poet | Artist' is an electro-pop genre song featuring a vocal riff as the main theme, complemented by an attack-like snare and a reggae rhythm, harmonizing together. Jonghyun wrote the lyrics and contributed to the composition for SHINee, with the lyrics conveying a message of breaking boundaries and creating new things together by applying the literary and poetic license of a poet and artist to art as well as to everyday life.
SHINee has shown determination to pursue their beliefs without giving up through the title track 'HARD' from their 8th studio album released in June 2023, which received a strong response. This new song, commemorating their 17th anniversary, is expected to further prove SHINee's unique presence that always offers distinctive music.
Meanwhile, the single 'Poet | Artist' will also be released on album format on May 26, with pre-orders starting at various online and offline music stores from the 19th.
