On the 18th episode of the SBS variety show My Little Old Boy (hereinafter 'Miwoo Sae'), guest actor Lee Sang-yeob appeared.
On this day, Seo Jang-hoon asked, "I heard that recently Lee Sang-yeob's mother has been diagnosed with myelofibrosis, which is a type of bone cancer. I heard she underwent a stem cell transplant. Is that similar to a bone transplant?"
Lee Sang-yeob explained, "In the past, they used to stick a needle into the bone to collect it, but nowadays it's simplified. Thanks to advanced technology, they just separate the stem cells from the blood like donating blood, and the remaining blood goes back to me."
Shin Dong-yeob noted, "It's amazing that your wife also studied because your mother was struggling." In response, Lee Sang-yeob expressed gratitude toward his wife, saying, "Originally, I thought she wasn't interested because she doesn't like to show it, but she studied a lot about myelofibrosis and the procedures I would undergo and what my mother will need to do in the future. She was very knowledgeable about it, and I was really thankful for that."
He also mentioned, "My mother was discharged this morning. I completed the discharge process and I'm here now. I'm type B and my mother is type A, but after receiving my cell transplant, she changed to type B." The panelists wished for his mother's speedy recovery and showed their support.
