The artist Samui, who views the world through a unique lens and captures the inner self, has released an EP.
Samui released the EP 'Um' today at noon on various music streaming sites.
The title track 'Norn Neul' is a song that speaks about accepting the differences between the world and oneself, and breaking free from fear. The music video released alongside the audio contains strong expressions of the will for liberation through music.
Additionally, 'Um' includes a total of five songs: 'Algorithm', 'Teo (Feat. Choi Won-bin)', 'A Dream of Spring', and 'Annyeong'. Notably, 'Teo (Feat. Choi Won-bin)' features artist Choi Won-bin as a guest, showcasing Samui's rough yet cheerful sensibility, adding to the listening enjoyment.
'Um' depicts the beginning of Samui's journey to find balance. This is the first story that includes parts of the upcoming second full album 'Bikyunhyeong', featuring energetic tracks prominently.
Before the EP release, Samui hinted at the inclusion of themes about balance by previewing the tracks. Samui also first revealed the songs included in 'Um' during the event 'Samuiru: Spicy Listening Party' held on the 26th of last month, and shared a recap video capturing the participants' reactions, raising anticipation for the EP.
In March of this year, Samui joined Magic Strawberry Sound and released the digital single 'Annyeong'. The identity of the unidentified spherical image in the cover of 'Annyeong' is revealed through the cover image of 'Um', drawing attention.
Meanwhile, Samui is a singer-songwriter who expresses personal stories in various forms such as rock, pop, and ballad. Known for a rich sound that emits explosive energy, they also create an immersive atmosphere through minimal arrangements, evoking nostalgia. Samui will attend the brand planning performance 'MEETING ROOM' by Magic Strawberry Sound on the 31st, and will perform at the 'DMZ Feast Rain Festival Music Festival 2025' on June 14, continuing active music activities.
