A time difference occurred between actors Roh Jung-eui and Lee Chae-min in 'Crushology 101.'
In the 11th episode of the MBC Friday-Saturday drama 'Crushology 101' (written by Seong So-eun and Lee Seul, directed by Kim Ji-hoon), which aired on the 16th, Bani (played by Roh Jung-eui) and Hwang Jae-yeol (played by Lee Chae-min) met again. However, due to the fear brought on by a one-year gap, they found themselves in a situation where they could neither approach nor distance themselves from each other.
After completing a one-year study abroad program, Bani began her first semester of her third year amidst her friends' concerns. However, soon, Bani and Hwang Jae-yeol encountered each other in a liberal arts class and stared at one another as if time had stopped, but neither could take the first step. By chance, they frequently met in front of a convenience store and at the library, yet they remained stuck in place. Moreover, when Hwang Jae-yeol said he would attend class, Bani sensed that the relationship might not recover, leading her to fall into deep sadness.
In the meantime, the boy Bani had fallen in love with at first sight during high school, Jin Hyun-oh (played by Hong Min-ki), made an appearance. Jin Hyun-oh, who was playing basketball at Yein University, recognized Bani instantly when he saw her and had shown enough interest to leave a confession at the confession tree during the arts festival. Due to Jin Hyun-oh's proactive behavior, the two grew closer rapidly, and Hwang Jae-yeol, witnessing this, realized that Jin Hyun-oh was Bani's first love.
From this point on, Hwang Jae-yeol's jealousy began in earnest. During a magazine shoot, Hwang Jae-yeol, in a situation where Bani was watching, naturally posed alongside Jin Hyun-oh while skillfully using props to capture Bani's attention. However, during an interview where he was asked about his relationship status, he shattered Bani's small hopes by saying he was focused on his work.
On the other hand, Jin Hyun-oh emphasized that he had no interests beyond basketball and his first love, indirectly revealing that his first love was Bani, putting Hwang Jae-yeol in a difficult position. Furthermore, he used a hot air balloon ticket he received as a gift to ask Bani out on a date, leaving Hwang Jae-yeol feeling powerless as he watched Bani accept.
Unable to bear it, Cha Ji-won (played by Jo Jun-young) threw a poignant question at Hwang Jae-yeol, who hesitated despite knowing how to act, asking him whether he would leave the two to their own devices. Realizing this, Hwang Jae-yeol urgently and decisively grabbed Bani. With Bani's heart swayed by Hwang Jae-yeol's sudden action, Hwang Jae-yeol with no place to retreat, and the new contender Jin Hyun-oh, the atmosphere around them has grown intensely charged, raising curiosity about whether Bani will follow Hwang Jae-yeol's wishes.
Even though Hwang Jae-yeol mustered the courage to hold on to Bani, there are still unresolved issues between them. Therefore, attention is focused on whether this will lead to a resolution of their misunderstandings and whether they will return to the time when a mere gaze at each other brought them happiness.
